🧼 Preparation

Make sure the windscreen is completely clean and free from dirt, dust, or grease. Clean the area using glass cleaner, then dry thoroughly with a paper towel, glass cloth, or microfibre cloth.

A clean surface = a perfect finish ✨

💦 Recommended Application Method

We highly recommend the wet method for sunstrips. This means applying the sunstrip using soapy water, allowing you to easily move and adjust it until you get the perfect position 🎯

📏 Measuring & Positioning

With the backing still on, measure where you want the sunstrip to sit (width & depth). Leave a small amount of excess around the top and sides to make application easier.

🧴 Application

Lightly spray soapy water onto the windscreen.

Peel off the backing paper and spray a small, even amount of soapy water onto the adhesive side of the sunstrip.

Carefully place the sunstrip onto the glass, lining it up with your masking tape guides. Once you’re happy with the placement, start squeezing the water out from the centre outwards. This locks the sunstrip in place and stops it from shifting 💪

👉 For best results, we recommend using a squeegee (available in our decal section).

Work downwards while squeegeeing so the water can flow out smoothly 💦

✂️ Trimming

Once positioned correctly and most of the water is removed, trim the edges using a sharp blade for a crisp, professional finish 🔪✨

Cut as close to the windscreen edge as possible without touching the glass or paint — take your time here!

Leaving 1–2 cm at the top helps create a cleaner look and allows the sunstrip to sit neatly against the roofline.

⚠️ Make sure all water is removed — any trapped moisture can affect adhesion.

⏳ Drying Time

avoid using wipers for 3–10 hours, depending on weather conditions, to ensure proper adhesion.

You can gently apply heat using a hair dryer or heat gun to speed things up 🔥

☀️ Weather Conditions

Avoid applying vinyl in extreme hot or cold conditions. Vinyl can become stretchy in heat or brittle in cold 🥶, which may affect installation and adhesion.

🧼 Aftercare

sun strips can take 48–72 hours to fully adhere.

🚫 Avoid washing your car during this time.
